Grey the skies above:

The sun sets
my heart is ripped in two
the longest night of my life begins
my first without you

Grey the sea below:

The sun will never shine the same again
the moon never as full
winter seems to last forever
cold, dark, bleak and dull

Grey the shade of my soul:

Darkness surrounds my body
there is no light to see
the hollow empty space
where you slept beside me

Grey the colour of my heart:

Loneliness is my only companion
depression my only friend
anguish is my tormentor
and death becomes my lover
but only in the end

Grey the pallour of my skin:

And as I lay here on the floor
watching the stain grow on the rug
I feel life ebbing away from me
drowned in a river of blood…
