This is absolutely horrifyingly correct but what it does not address is how and by whom was she plucked from obscurity to be positioned in this way. There are puppet-masters pulling the strings, as they did to get Bush to be prez, and her getting nominated was no accident, nor was it a spontaneous mass decision by the electorate.

Someone, or a shadowy body, decided in advance, that she, plus the mighty Republican machine to persuade the mass under-educated electorate, would be the person and the idea that most likely could spin the public away from the disasters of the past eight years. It was probably brilliant strategist Carl Rove that came up with the idea, backed by someone like Dick Cheyney and a few other mighty masters we know nothing about. I have to start believing in the conspiracy theory of The Trilateral Commission that has been around for years, that this shadowy body orchestrates what happens in the USA.

I believe too that the current financial debacle was orchestrated in the same way, gradually putting more and more wealth and power in hands of fewer and fewer moguls. Nationalizing AIG was an example. According to Hank Greenburg on Charlie Rose the company could have been rescued by a credit line or a bridging loan but he as the majority shareholder was not consulted. The government simply nationalized the company and bits are now to be sold off to the highest (or carefully selected) bidders.

I am afraid that Democracy has been hijacked in the USA, starting with when the election was stolen in plain site from Al Gore.
